Swedish artist Cecilia Levy, a former graphic designer and bookbinder, began experimenting with paper to create sculptures back in 2009.
Using old books, she tears, cuts and shreds the pages, then merges them back together to create beautiful 3-dimensional objects including cups, saucers, bowls, plates and accessories.
“The story lives on, but in a different shape.”
Traditionally, Cecilia’s work has featured delicate pages that are void of vivid color from turn of the century titles, but her most recent collection, which was commissioned by a Swedish preschool, is made entirely from Spider-Man comics. And it’s MARVELous!
Now, a full time paper artist, Cecilia shows her work in solo and group exhibitions in Sweden and abroad, working with public art assignments and holding workshops. Check out more of her incredible work here.
