24 years ago today, on August 10, 1993, after being nominated by President Bill Clinton, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was sworn in as the second woman and the 107th U.S. Supreme Court Justice. The now 84-year-old trailblazer, “Notorious” phenom, and feminist icon is still at the top of her game, pursuing justice and serving as a champion for women’s rights and gender equality.

A co-founder of the Women’s Rights Project at the ACLU, RBG originally attended law school not for women’s rights work, but because she thought she “could do a lawyer’s job better than any other.” However, according to the ACLU, it was “the treatment Ginsburg received as a woman in law school that honed her feminist instincts.”
