Once living in the fast paced corporate world as a commercial artist, Cindy Chinn decided to carve out a new life for herself as a full-time fine artist. While exploring her many interests and mediums, Cindy discovered a love for pencil carving… and her pieces are spectacular.

“I’d been seeing sculpted pencils and pencil leads online for the past few years and REALLY wanted to try my hand at it. My first pencil carving was of a train – and in December of 2015 the images I posted went viral across the internet!” Cindy explains on her website.

Since then, the Nebraska artist has been selling her mini-masterpieces and taking custom commissions while also “enjoying finding the secrets hidden in a piece of wood.” In addition to pencil carvings, Cindy also paints and is a master wood carver.

Here are just a few of our favorite pencil carvings, but you can check out much more of Cindy’s work on her website or on Facebook.
