With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we are taking a look back and celebrating some of the WYSKy moms we have had the privilege to profile over the past year. While many of the women we feature are mothers, these inspiring women have shown a love for their children that is just extraordinary. In a quest to make their children’s lives better, safer and filled with opportunity, these moms have also made an indelible impact on the lives of many others.

Melissa_momdayMelissa, a fiction writer, editor and marketer, is also a single mom to her almost thirteen-year-old daughter. She started the Advice to My Thirteen-Year-Old Self project, an anthology of advice letters by inspirational women to their thirteen-year-old selves, to give her daughter, and other young women like her, access to a book that serves as a contemporary, relevant “guidebook” that doesn’t skirt around important issues.
