The holiday season would not be complete without an obligatory gingerbread house project, so if you are looking for some inspiration, the Duchess Bake Shop in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, built this phenomenal Hogwarts gingerbread castle. The stunning creation was put together by their team of talented pastry artists led by shop founders Giselle Courteau and her husband Garner Beggs. The elaborate display is 100% edible, made from gingerbread, sugar, and candy.

Gingerbread Hogwarts is finally here!! It is 100% edible, made from gingerbread, sugar, and candy—stop by the Bake Shop to see it in person through the holidays. Just like in previous years you can enter to WIN a chance to DESTROY the castle if you bring a donation of new socks for the @bissellcentre. Thank you @g_beggs @kelseyfj and @cafelinnea for your incredible hard work—all those late nights were worth it! #duchessbakeshop #gingerbreadhogwarts #gingerbread #gingerbreadcastle #hogwarts #cafelinnea
Like in past years, the bakery runs a contest to “win a chance to destroy” the gingerbread display, all you have to do to enter is bring a donation of new socks for the Bissell Center, a local nonprofit working towards the elimination of poverty and homelessness. The castle will be on view through the holidays.
And if you can’t make it to Edmonton, you can check out the bakery’s lovely cookbook.
Here’s a quick video to see how it all came together.
