This week at SXSW, Michelle Obama released “This Is For My Girls,” a star-studded single inspired by Let Girls Learn, the initiative launched by the President and First Lady that seeks to help the more than 62 million girls around the world who are not in school.
The song, which will serve as an anthem for Let Girls Learn, is written by Grammy Award winning songwriter Diane Warren, executive produced by MAKERS, and features vocal performances from Chloe x Halle, Jadagrace, Janelle Monae, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Lea Michele, Missy Elliott and Zendaya.
“Diane Warren and this collective of powerful, talented artists have truly taken action in support of Let Girls Learn,” Ms. Obama said in a press release. “I am thrilled that they’ve created this anthem for the 62 million girls around the world who are not in school.”
You can support the initiative by downloading the song on iTunes. All proceeds from U.S. iTunes purchases of the single will be donated to the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund.
