In April we introduced you to the #TruthInAds campaign and petition to the Federal Trade Commission to end deceptive photoshopping of bodies in ads.

Last Wednesday, Seth Matlins, who is leading the campaign, presented Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and Congresswoman Lois Capps (D-CA) with the petition, which to date, has received more than 30,000 signatures and still counting.

Every day, girls are inundated with images of female bodies, most of which have been manipulated to present impossible beauty standards. Feminist vlogger, speaker and writer Kat Lazo has created this video to drive home the affects photoshopping has on young girls and their self-esteem.

The statistics are STARTLING!

3 out of 4 teenage girls feel depressed, shameful and guilty after only three minutes of flipping through a fashion magazine.

Watch and learn more about the Truth in Advertising Act of 2014. Sign the petition at to tell the Federal Trade Commission how you feel about false and manipulative advertising.
