Today marks the second annual #GivingTuesday™, an altruistic answer to Black Friday and Cyber Monday that encourages a national day of giving at the start of the holiday shopping season. This year’s call to action? Take an unselfish “selfie” – an #UNselfie – and share it on social media to help spread the word about the importance of giving.
Here’s all you need to do in 3 simple steps:
1. Take a “selfie”… a photo of yourself
2. Make it unselfish by including a caption (or write it on a sign you hold in front of you in the pic) explaining how or why you are “giving” this year… write the name of the group you support, what charitable activities you participate in or the name of a non-profit you love
3. Upload the photo to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and include the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #UNselfie from now till December 4… the good people at #GivingTuesday will like your pic and add it to their Storify
