“2000 steps. 120 miles. 5 honorary degrees.”

These are just some of the numbers that have defined the legacy of Katherine Johnson. Katherine is the brilliant and trailblazing NASA mathematician who served as the brains behind one of the greatest space missions in US history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit.

Today, on her 98th birthday, actress Taraji P. Henson, who plays Katherine in the upcoming film Hidden Figures, narrates this special tribute for this remarkable woman.

In honor of it also being Women’s Equality Day, 20th Century Fox will be making a donation to STEM EDUCATION for every share of this video today. So share away!

Hidden Figures hits theaters everywhere on January 13, 2017.
