In an August 2015 article on the “makeup tax,” The Atlantic reported, “Most women wear at least some makeup, some of the time,” citing cosmetic use polls that report “between 50 and 80 percent of women use it at least occasionally.” Given those numbers (and the fact that everyone on our crew uses some form of makeup), this ASAP Science video piqued our interest as it breaks down the history and science of the makeup of makeup… including what thrives in 36.4% of mascara tubes.
