Karyn Tripp is a homeschool mom of 4 kids and the founder of Teach Beside Me, a blog focused on educating young children.

As a former teacher, Karyn has developed a knack for coming up with some very clever, imaginative and innovative ways to make learning fun. Most recently, she posted this Periodic Table Battleship game, which she created as a way to introduce her kids to chemistry.

On her blog Karyn says, “This game can be played even by kids who know nothing about the Periodic Table yet. My 8-year-old daughter has not studied any chemistry yet, but really enjoyed this one.”

The game is super simple to put together, all you need is a printer, folders, some paper and paper clips and you are in business. You can find detailed instructions on how to put the game together on the Teach Beside Me website, and while you are there, be sure to check out Karyn’s free printables and other cool projects.
