Meet Lori Mae Hernandez, a 13-year-old stand-up comedian who brought the house down on America’s Got Talent last night. The funny girl, who wowed with her unexpected wit and moxie, started doing stand-up 3 years ago after her dad developed Bell’s palsy, a form of temporary facial paralysis. She explained to the judges that the condition started to make it hard for him to smile, so she was inspired to write and tell him jokes to help him smile again.

Since, Lori has continued fine-tuning her craft and writing all of her own material, including the Trump joke she closed her AGT audition on, which earned her roars of laughter and a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience. Howie, Mel, Heidi, and Simon also gave her four emphatic YESes!
