Meet Meridth McKean Gimbel, woman, survivor, and children’s book illustrator. Inspired by the mission and message of the Women’s March, she created this illustration, which she calls Modern Suffragette, “in solidarity with the marchers while reflecting back on the movement for universal suffrage that has improved the lives of women worldwide.” A print is now available with all profits being donated to Planned Parenthood.
Meridth’s Modern Suffragette is printed on heavy weight archival epson matte paper with archival ink. The image measures 7×7 with a one inch border for easy framing. Each print is hand signed by her.

What You Should Know About Meridth
As a girl, Meridth could be found “reading books during math class, writing stories during lunchtime, and drawing pictures all over her arms and legs (if she ran out of paper).” So she was “pretty delighted” when she found out “you could do that sort of thing for a living.” Fast forward to adulthood, Meridth earned a BFA in Illustration from BYU and has been doing what she loves ever since.
In her work as a book illustrator she tell us, “It’s very important to me that all children from diverse backgrounds can see themselves in children’s literature. I am a firm supporter of the #weneeddiversebooks movement.”
