Last night a new trailer for Disney’s A Wrinkle In Time was unveiled during the American Music Awards. Directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma), the highly-anticipated feature film is an adaptation of the award-winning science fantasy novel by American writer Madeleine L’Engle, first published in 1962.
Meg Murry and her little brother, Charles Wallace, have been without their scientist father, Mr. Murry, for five years, ever since he discovered a new planet and used the concept known as a tesseract to travel there. Joined by Meg’s classmate Calvin O’Keefe and guided by the three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which, the children brave a dangerous journey to a planet that possesses all of the evil in the universe.
The epic adventure takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through Meg’s transformative journey led by the three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.
Set to hit US theaters on March 9, 2018, the film boasts a script written by Oscar-winning Frozen writer and co-director Jennifer Lee and is carried by a stellar cast. The big screen talent includes: Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Levi Miller, Deric McCabe, André Holland, Rowan Blanchard with Zach Galifianakis, Chris Pine and introduces Storm Reid
