Nike has always pushed the envelope when it comes to advertising, and the company’s latest film Juntas Imparables (“Unstoppable Together”) continues on that trend.

“For 30 years, Nike’s mantra to ‘Just Do It’ has called on the power of sport to overcome any obstacle – from issues of equality to gridlocked traffic, and everything in between. This plays out in our first Nike Women’s JDI campaign in Mexico,” Nike said in a press release about the new ad.

The opening shots show the bustling streets of Mexico City, with an endless stream of cars stuck in traffic. Then a woman sprints by on a run, “igniting a citywide rally cry that shows how the challenges of being a woman are no obstacle for those intent on achieving their goals.” The film features cameos by top Mexican athletes such as soccer player Nayeli Rangel, boxer Mariana Juárez, runner Paola Morán, gymnast Alexa Moreno and basketball player Casandra Ascencio.

In addition to the ad, Nike has also kicked off a fitness challenge… more info on that here.
