Cynthia Nixon is bringing Emily Dickinson to the big screen in A Quiet Passion, a new biopic due to hit theaters later this year. The film tells the story of the famed American poet from her early days as a young girl to her later years as a reclusive artist.

The trailer shows the character interacting with her family and friends, and ends a few lines from one of Dickinson’s most well-known poems, “Because I could not stop for Death.”

Directed and written by Terence Davies, A Quiet Passion aims to provide “unique insight into Dickinson’s life and obsessions.”

We are so looking forward to this one!
