With holiday shopping on our minds we, like most Americans this past weekend, scoured the internet for great deals and gift ideas. As we clicked through the endless gift guides posted by style mavens and online magazines, we came across a post that caught our eye by Tereza Nemessanyi, the Co-Founder and CEO of the online community, Honestly Now, and one of Forbes Ten Female Entrepreneurs and Mompreneurs to Watch.

As a female entrepreneur, Tereza knows women yield significant purchase power, but this power doesn’t necessarily equate to economic empowerment for women. Since women do most of the holiday shopping (85%) and start about 70% of new businesses, it would only make sense to support these women owned businesses and put the money back in their pockets.

So, Tereza took to the internet and put the call out, asking anyone and everyone to help her put together a “comprehensive 2011 Holiday Shopping Guide of awesome products and services created by women-led companies” that she would cull and share.

Well, she got what she asked for. Tereza received so many submissions that The Buying XX for Xmas Holiday Guide, which lives on SkinnyScoop.com, is still being updated daily.

The list is comprehensive, you’ll find everything from baked goods, to gorgeous jewelry, and gifts that give back; it’s a one-stop shop for everyone on your gift list. Some of our favorites include birthstone jewelry by Luna & Stella, gourmet treats from The Painted Pretzel and charming objects by Nanda Home.

Check out the sites, and do some holiday shopping while supporting women in business this season. Just think about the impact we can make!
