We have a new “must watch” series for you… Shrill, a comedy starring the hilarious Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live). The six-episode series, airing March 15 on Hulu, is based on the book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Women by Lindy West.
Shrill follows “Annie, described as a fat young woman who wants to change her life — but not her body. Annie is trying to make it as a journalist while juggling bad boyfriends, sick parents and a perfectionist boss, while the world around her deems her not good enough because of her weight. She starts to realize that she’s as good as anyone else, and acts on it.”
The cast of characters also includes stand-up comedian and actress Lolly Adefope, who plays Annie’s best friend, and SNL alum Julia Sweeney, among others.
Based on the trailer alone, we are in love… with Annie, and of course the body positive messaging… representation matters!
