What are you doing on August 15th? If you live in or around the Richmond, CA area, you have a chance to take part in the “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as a Rosie the Riveter,” and make Guinness World Records history.

The Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park and the Rosie the Riveter Trustin conjunction with the American Rosie the Riveter Association,  Richmond Convention & Visitors Bureau, and The City of Richmond, are looking for 1,000 women and girls to join in the effort to break the current record, which was set last year when 776 Rosies gathered at in Ypsilanti, MI.

In 2014 776 Rosies set a Guinness World Record to support the campaign to Save The Willow Run Bomber Plant.

Here’s what you need to know…

All participants are asked to gather from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Rosie the Riveter Memorial.

To be counted as a “Rosie,” organizers have established the following guidelines regarding wardrobe…

1. Red bandana with approximately 1″ diameter white polka-dots (hair should be pinned up, not down or in a ponytail).

2. Dark blue long-sleeve workers coveralls, OR long-sleeve dark blue collared shirt and dark blue pants, OR very dark blue jeans (not faded). Long sleeves must be rolled up like the classic image.

3. Red socks that cover calves (pants must be rolled up to reveal socks)

4. Black work boots or work shoes (or as close as you can get, as long as they’re black) OR brown work boots.

NOTE:
-no faded denim jeans
-no denim shirts
-no bib overalls
-no t shirts
-no sweats
