In this beautiful, short film shot by Kelly Guerin for the Unbound Project, we meet Sangdeaun Lek Chailert, founder of Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. Lek is world-renowned for her work to protect elephants from the cruelty of the tourism and logging industries in Thailand and across Asia.
Lek was inspired to help these majestic animals after witnessing, first-hand, the brutal treatment many of them were subjected to for entertainment’s sake. Today, Lek, along with her husband and a team of volunteers, works to free elephants from a life of abuse and suffering.
About the Unbound Project: Unbound is a multimedia and book project by acclaimed photojournalist Jo-Anne McArthur and Dr. Keri Cronin. Their mission is “to recognize and celebrate women at the forefront of animal advocacy, in both a contemporary and historical context.”
