In this episode of Sally Hubbard’s Women Killing It! podcast, listen for advice from Jill Richburg on how to live your purpose and create the life you want. Hear what Jill views as the riskiest career move you could make – it just might surprise you.

“There’s no rule in this Universe that says the only way for you to be successful in the world is to succeed at someone else’s game. That is not the truth.”

Jill Richburg is a life coach, acting coach, and lawyer. Her coaching method is premised on her belief that… “In this life, you get what you’re willing to be, do, or have.”

On this Women Killing It! Podcast episode, Jill, an expert at helping her clients to identify their life purpose and to discover opportunities that align with that purpose, provides simple exercises that help you get in touch with your will and purpose to make things happen in your life. Jill also talks about her own career path, and even shares the moment she met Barack Obama as a classmate at Harvard Law School.

Jill further talks about a common mistake made by women, people of color, and other groups that face discrimination: the belief that one can merit themselves out of discrimination. “Don’t exhaust yourself trying to impress people who are programmed not to be impressed by you,” says Jill. A better course, if possible, is for women to seek out different opportunities where their hard work will be valued.

Jill Richburg on purpose…

“Your purpose is going to be a statement. When you hit on it, it’s going to energize you like nobody’s business…Your life purpose is not a job title. It’s a statement of why the Universe put you here.”
