It’s hard to wrap our heads around the fact that an entire year has gone by since the official launch of Women You Should Know® on September 7, 2011. And WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN! We’ve gotten to know so many incredible women, posted about countless inspiring, thought provoking, interesting, sometimes blush-worthy and head scratching news/topics, and have learned so much.
While we have lots of favorite posts and WYSKs, the one that is most important to us is the story that kicked off this whole inspiring ride and caused quite a stir – Thousands of Women You Should Know.
This first-ever, Women You Should Know® post was our special homage to all of the women emergency services workers who responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and in the days following. These women were largely ignored by the media over the course of a decade, never having their stories told. Our post got picked up by The Huffington Post, subsequently receiving a lot of buzz and eliciting all sorts of strong reactions and comments. We encourage you to read it here.
A special thanks to all of our readers, fans, friends, supporters and contributors who making doing what we do even more rewarding, exciting, and fun. Your presence and participation in this dynamic community is invaluable.
